SMARTDEC Call for Innovations: Awarded Projects
Through its first Call for Innovations, the SMARTDEC project supports 11 awarded solutions aiming to accelerate the decarbonisation of maritime transportWithin the framework of the European project SMARTDEC – Smart Clusters for Maritime Decarbonisation, co-financed by the Interreg Atlantic Area programme, 11 awarded projects have been selected following the first Call for Innovations.
In particular, these projects will benefit from tailored acceleration services designed to strengthen the maturity of their solutions and, ultimately, to support their contribution to a more sustainable and competitive European maritime transport sector.
Moreover, the selected initiatives address diverse themes – including electrification, digital green solutions, energy efficiency and alternative fuels – all of which contribute to the overarching goal of decarbonising maritime transport.
Kick-off meeting on 16 September
A Kick-off meeting will be held online on 16 September, bringing together onlythe project partners and the awarded projects.
The main objective will be to get to know each other, share expectations, and, importantly, launch the next phase of collaboration.
In addition, each awarded project will receive a dedicated support plan, co-designed with the project partners, in order to strengthen the maturity of their innovation and there facilitate its path towards market uptake.

Towards a greener Atlantic maritime sector
With these 11 awarded projects, SMARTDEC confirms its role as a catalyst for innovation, working to accelerate the decarbonisation of Atlantic maritime transport.
Looking ahead, more information on the awarded projects will be shared in the coming months as their acceleration journeys progress.
