The SMARTDEC project will be present throughout European Maritime Day 2025 with a dedicated stand, and will also take part in the workshop:

“Navigating the Future: Sustainable Trade and Ships” Organised by Seas At Risk.

This interactive session, held on Thursday 22 May from 17:15 to 18:30, will explore how the maritime sector can align with environmental and planetary boundaries, while accelerating the transition to a climate-resilient, circular and just blue economy.

Participants will engage in discussions and activities around:

• sustainable and decarbonised shipping,
• renewable marine energy and alternative fuels,
• future-proof port and trade infrastructure,
• policy frameworks for a greener maritime future.

The workshop builds on the recent One Planet Shipping report and invites stakeholders to co-create transformative pathways for maritime transport.
