WORKSHOP: A COMMON STRATEGY AND ROADMAP FOR THE MARITIME TRANSPORT DECARBONISATION IN EUROPEDetails
The international maritime transport is the backbone of the global economy, only in Europe almost 77% of external trade is carried out by sea.
Currently, this sector release emissions that pollute the air and contribute significantly to global warming. Now, international and national organisations as well as the European Commission have adopted different initiatives to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions by at least 50 % by 2050. Nevertheless, concrete actions are still in an early stage and common strategies are defectively carried through. So we would like to define who are the key stakeholders in the different member states within the waterborne transports are required to agree on concrete steps to achieve the midterm and long-term objectives. So, how to engage with them? how to implement concrete steps? who should be involved? when and where we could start the agreed approach?
Target audience :
Maritime transport industries, decarbonisation technology provides, policy makers, researches and NGOs
