The SMARTDEC policy recommendations provide the European Institutions with a series of recommendations to ensure the renaissance of Europe’s leadership on maritime industries and especially green shipping. It focuses on converting lessons learnt and knowledge gathered during the project implementation phase into useful recommendations for the development of the upcoming EU Maritime Industry Strategy and EU Ports Strategy. In particular, the Policy recommendations explore the concept of “Maritime Industry Valleys” as a key tool for the efficient and effective implementation of the strategies.
