This deliverable presents a state-of-the-art analysis of the Atlantic waterborne transportation sector across France, Ireland, Portugal and Spain. It includes a review of completed and ongoing projects funded through European programmes such as Interreg Atlantic, Interreg Europe, Horizon and EMFAF, as well as an overview of national funding instruments available in the four countries. The report examines the current status of the maritime transport sector, covering ship calls, vessel traffic, short sea shipping, port infrastructures and related best practices. Based on project research, bibliographic reviews and statistical databases, the analysis identifies current needs, gaps, challenges and expected impacts for the decarbonisation of maritime transport in the Atlantic Area.
