SMARTDEC at the World Maritime Week in Bilbao

On 19th March 2024, the SMARTDEC team will take part in a Study Visit in Bilbao, organised by Leartibai Fundazioa as part of the FISHINN project. Held at the BEC – Bilbao Exhibition Centre during the World Maritime Week, this event will highlight FISHINN’s efforts in maritime innovation and sustainability.

As part of the programme, Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique, one of FISHINN’s French partners and the coordinator of SMARTDEC, will present the SMARTDEC project, focusing on its objectives and synergies with FISHINN. This session will contribute to discussions on maritime decarbonisation and port innovation, key challenges for both projects.

The Study Visit will also feature a workshop by the Bizkaia Provincial Council, a visit to PORTLAB, and good practice presentations from innovative companies like ROSEO, Landatu Solar, and Ocean Ecostructures. The day will conclude with a guided visit to the Port of Bilbao.

This event is a great opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen collaborations, and explore solutions for a more sustainable maritime sector. The SMARTDEC team looks forward to connecting with key stakeholders and sharing expertise.
